Hi! I haven't brushed my hair since December first and I've been washing with baking soda and cold water. My hair hasn't really locked much at all but my scalp is really dry and itchy. I have no dandruff, just extreme itch that drives me crazy! I didn't think oils would be a good idea since my isn't locked.

I hate vinegar. Would it have a negative impact on my hair if I scented it with orange peels?

You can scent your apple cider vinegar with rosemary, tea tree and peppermint essential oils. For newly forming dreads, just use a few drops of each. These oils are great for itchy scalps. The ACV balances the PH in the hair & conditions it, you need this when using baking soda, unless you have very oily hair.

Use the search bar at the top of the site & type in itchy scalp. You'll get lots to read. Good Luck

You're only using 1-2 capfuls of ACV with 5 cups water. If you hate vinegar, then don't drink it.

Ok. I'll try the oils. The smell while using the vinegar is what I don't like. I clean with it, but I soak orange peels in it for a week so I don't have to smell it while I'm cleaning.

You will be using Apple Cider Vinegar, not white vinegar
