2 Dread Theories

General Talk

I have been using the bs rinse for a month now, which is the only method I have used to wash my hair so I can only comment on that method of washing. It does seem like everytime I do the soak and rinse my dreads feel a little tighter and more and more of the loose hairs find their way home. I do plan on trying out the bar soaps soon though!

As far as the hair near the neckline, I totally agree! Before I was intentionally letting my hair dread it seemed like the hair undernearth was always a knotty rats nest, but now that I want it to be it's oily and stringy!

splitting dreadie

Dread Maintenance

If I leave this guy alone, will it keep splitting down the middle or will it dread together? I would rather not rip it apart at this point, I've already done it for a couple other ones and I feel like it's so rough on my hair. Should I put someembroiderythread around it? Thanks! Heather

I mean that I got them all knotted up, I know it doesn't happen in a day.. I don't think they ever finish dreading, do they?!

I think I do want to keep them undreaded but how do I keep my bangs from being so greasy? I just washed them today and their already greasy and I use Dr.B which is SUPPOSED to strip the oil..

And how long should I wait til I wash my new dreads? I'm sure I can find a discussion on that..

PS Melanie, I do gotta JIbboo!!<o)))>{

How old were you when you started your dreads?

Dreadlocks Journey Emotional Support

I had my first set when I was 20 but ended up taking them out because of terrible headaches I was getting. I was palm rolling everyday and making then as tight as I could at the roots.. no wonder I was getting headaches!! after 3 months I begged my mom to comb them out.Now 4 years later Im starting the journey again and it feels so right!! My dreads make me want to be one with the earth and all the creatures upon it ^.^ I even took a vow to stop eating meat when I put my dread in.. but that probably won't last as long as the dreads ;)
