Decision to naturally dread hair day 2.

Introduce Yourself

Hello all you beautiful dread heads! I'm excited for my journey to begin. Yesterday I back combed on small section of hair by the nape of my neck. Shortly after I decided to try letting my very straight and very Caucasian hair dread on its own. Will this work, I don't know. I hoping that I won't regret the decision to not section off... Do you think I will? I'm very excited to see what my hair does on its own but of course I want my dreads to look good in the long haul. Any and all advise will be taken with enthusiasm and grace. Thank you for this awesome site/support here! Peace love and light.

Where to get beads? What kind to get?

Dread Accessories

yeah that is ridiculos. i saw those wooden beads at the store for nothin for like a huge pack. i make hemp jewelry understand that u want to make money for your work, but all you did here was go to store and come home and mark up like a bunch. and thats not work.ppl real artists spend lots of time and energy making awesome handmade things and your just reselling something for more no artistic value added... so yeah. thats my two cents (for free ;)

taking the loooong road.

Alternative Lifestyles and Subcultures

I have wanted to do this many times as well. and was about to before i found out i was preg about two years and nine months ago...now i have to stay in illinois because its court ordered, not to move my residence.... bummer. its a shame his fatherhasnt been there for usin times really needed, his anger and abuseshould have been a sign to just leave state....(shouldda left before court stuff started lol) and now he shows up to have his visitation and pay money owed (honestly he could keep the money if i could just takemy sonand leave tottally would agree to that) and it sucks that im stuck here becasue of a man. iplan to teach Cassady about concoiusness and not too much about money, but definatly about greed andabout hope and things that television doesnt teach us...camp alotand i hope tht when hes 18 maybe together was can take an awesome trip to the gathering or wherever our hearts desire. most of all i hope that my son will be able to see through falsities that can easily be distracting, and see through peoples true intentions based on their actions and not their promises...

I wish you all the luck, and i think you should definatly go for it! youve got only things to gain from journeys like that!

After hearing you talk about getting away last week, I started talking to my sons father. We both agreed that getting out of suburbs and on the road would be ideal, and most efficient. I mean why either of us wastes 800/a month at least on rent when we could show our son the world/the land and be apart of earth instead of just becoming part of the problem. We just really want to teach him something real and good. Frankly the suburban sprawl that we have forced ourselves to lve ie always wanted n has grown tiring.

After mayn hours of ifs and or buts...we decided (much thanks to your inspiration on the subject) that we would in fact save (and use any tax refund money) for a bus/van this summer, and then in fall get on the road looking for a better place, visit some friends around the country that weve benn meaning to, and just see whatelse is out there. ...

i have always wanted to get into agriculture...planting foods and herbs as well as flowers that would be my dream to just play in the mud all day. lol. but seriously i have been thinking it would be really awesoem to fnd other who wanted this same dreama new ethic of sorts to build new generations on. it would be awesome to shall the responsibility as well as the rewars with others. as we are all human and its in our nature to connect with eachother.

So i hope theres a place where we all find what we are looking firand the first step to that place, is taking a step, not fearing the unknown, not worrying about if we wil lmake it but how and when and what will it take to make it.

this has been on my mind for days now.
