First BS/ACV wash

Dreads Hair and Scalp Health

So my first wash feels successful. Used the half cup bs to five cups water and added some rosemary. Left 10 min. Rinsed, then 2 caps acv to five cups water. Rinsed immediately. Then added five drops lemon juice, 2 drops rosemary oil and 1 drop peppermint oil mixed with five cups and left in to dry. Scalp has tingle feeling and smells marvelous.I plan on doing these washes twice a week and maybe a cold watOr rinse or two in between.Hair only takes about thirty to forty min to dry and is starting to get more frizz poppin up as it dries so I still have faith that I wills have dreads in the future. But then again. It's only been a week lolThanks for everyone's help.

Just wanted to make sure everything I'm doing is right.1/3 cup of baking soda - 1 gallon of waterPour over entire head slowlyRinseapple Cider vinegarPour over entire headRinseFeel free to give me advice or your own ingredients. All are welcome.I don't want a lot of oils or anything that will make me lose color in my hair like I have seen over time in some darker hair colors. Thanks again guys and gals

Correct. Just pour all over, let sit for 10 min, and rinse.

When I rinse I just massage the scalp, not running fingers thru the hair. And plan on doing my first BSW/acv wash this weekend. Thanks to everyone posting. Been a great help and I'm excited to learn a lot more

New Years Resoulution

Introduce Yourself

Haven't actually done one yet. Just started and hasn't been a week yet. I have rinsed with cold water no soap or shampoo while in the shower and let air dry. Hair seems to be doing what it's suppose to do. As far as naturally sectioning goes. Is there something I should change?

New Years Resoulution

Introduce Yourself

As we all begin a new year, things come to mind that we want to change or improve. And to start 2013 off for me I wanted dreadlocks. I admit that at first I was against "neglect" and moving towards the "back combing" method, but the more I read, the more I leaned towards naturally letting my locks form. So began my journey.I searched for answers for hours and finally came to the conclusion that I would make my own account and ask the questions I needed. I hope that this site can help me make my dreads possible and enjoyable.I stopped shampooing and combing as of 01 JAN 2013 and my hair has already started separating and curling naturally as it should. I shower daily but use a BSW weekly to keep my scalp from being itchy and causing dandruff. I may have just started but im already super excited in seeing the changes my hair makes naturally. Will be posting pics from short original hair to now, and then every other week til my locks mature.
