ooooh! awesome!

thanks Donna!

Castaway...it could also be "burned" slightly...I've had the outer edges light up a few times when I'm not being careful!

I have some follicles on some of my dreads if i look closely. I think everyone does, its part of a dread. Your hair falls out but stays locked up in there. Nothing to be worried about or be ashamed of. If its really bad and other people are pointing it out then you must have ripped the hair out of your head by dreading or maintenance methods. I have fairly dark dreads so I can see em if i put my nose up to the mirror, otherwise its nothing unusual.

I get these little whit tips where the hair naturally sheds.
It's like some kind of root sheeth (if thats how you spell it)
It's not noticable to others but it is to me because I'm so aware of them being there. They will also show up a bit more if you have dark hair like me!
Totally normal though

xx

If you could post pics, it would help. Most likely they re hair follicles. Trust me, they look moreprominent to you because you are closer to them. Anyone within normal speaking distance will not see them as much as you do. Everyone has them.

You could dye your hair, but you would have to keep redying it to keep up with the colour fading. But there's no reason to. Onl you will ever see them as closely as you do

The hair follicle thing is a nuisance tho, especially when you have dark hair. You may be the only one to see it, but you feel like everyone else can. It's been a few months of knowing that it's there, but I'm finally learning to forget it's there.

Kind of unrelated, but not entirely: what do you all do with shedding? Pull them all the way out or leave them?

I pull mine if I see them more than twice.. it just annoys me and I'm worried that someone else will see them (even though I'm sure no one else does)

I take my hair into a ponytail and then gently pull out the loose ones in one go. About a handful every other day. It's either that or they end up all over my back and chair at work...egh.
