dreadlocks for dummies

  • step 1: pick up comb
  • step 2: walk to trashcan
  • step 3: toss comb in trash
  • step 4: let it dread

all steps are optional, dreadlocks may result unintentionally without taking any of the steps above

Could I help clean up the editing and typos in this? It was a very enlightening and educational read and I picked up quite a few tips, but the typos made it a little hard to go through.

my friend really wants to start dreadlocks within the next 2 months, and since i've had mine for over 3 years now, she has asked me to help...the only problem is that i used the backcombing method, and ive come to learn how damaging it really is...i want her to have the healthiest locs possible, and i know she doesnt want to go the neglect route, so im very interested about the twist and rip method...i think she would be a good candidate for it, but i have some concerns..she has thick, super striaght hair and i was wondering how effective this method is for her hair type...she has already begun the process of using residue free shampoos and staying away from harmful products so i know her hair will be ready, but will twisting and ripping really make her hair knot up? i also know that she wants to have i guess what would be called well maintained locs, so what can be done to the loose hairs on the locs? really trying to stay away from crochet hooks and all that...anyone who has used the twist and rip method or has any advice on it, i would greatly appreciate it:)

leave the loose hairs alone they will take care of themselves

I was just wondering how often it is ok to use sea salts in the hair ? and do yourinseit out or leave in the hair? Also when washing my hair with essential oils, do i first want to wash with baking soda, then rinse with ACV.. Then use the essential oil, and rinse? or can i mix the oil in with the baking soda? I was also wondering if argan oil is fine for dreads? I have this beach spray that has sea salts in it and argan oils (meant to give your hair that beachylook)i was wondering if maybe I can use that instead of plain sea salts..
