congrats on finding the patience inside yourself. I had a similar issue with my first set, but after 2 months of wax my hair was falling out in chunks like I was on chemo. When you decide to go a natural way, you are much moresatisfiedwith the progress, and you end up feeling more connected to it personally. They become "yours", rather than machine made

I'm still learning about different methods and plan to dread my hair for the first time in the next couple of months.
Is it better to get someone to help you do them at home or go to a salon?
What method is best if I have shorter hair, don't want to lose length, and don't want to damage my hair?

never ever go to a salon if you want no damage go nasturakl]l just stop combing and let it dreasd itself or twist n rip

tho how short i]s it

u will lose length u cant avoid that a knot is shorter then a straight line

many knots shorter

Mine were back combed and waxed ( Dread and bee's ) then at about 3 months icrotchet them and here i am :) Nearly 3 years later.
