Well my hair is pretty well naturally sectioned off now, and it falls quite well better than I could have hoped for via an artificial way. My ringlets sectioned off about the diameter of my fingernail so a nice size for me.This natural sectioning was done bydunking my head in a bucket of salty water every 2 days, then flicking my head back to get most the water out, then just naturally air dried.I have a couple of thoughts running through my hair now. I wish to keep the sections hat formed using clay beads on every ringlet/eventual dread like how I have seen some do with those rubber bands. The bead will be pushed up on the section close to my scalp untill the hair locks up, then I will crack the clay beads to remove them completly once the hair has locked completly. This will look quite strange as I will have a knobby clay head for a while but I do think the hair will lock quite quickly without the added maintenence of hand seperating at the scalp level.Good idea?

glad they sectioned off well for ya my natural dreads did the same thing. If you want to use the clay beads go ahead but it sounds like a lot of work and discomfort( yea lotsa beads is uncomfortable esp. while sleeping!) for no real reason. You're going to have to separate anyway and like se said they can restrict movement slowing the locking process. Good Luck with whatever you decide! Many Blessings

You won't be able to live with beads all on your scalp...unless you sleep with you head in the air :/ ...If you really want to do it this way look for some peyote stiches, of slips that are soft
