Beads for what reason

I've rad in another post that beads where good for the dreading progress, but why? What do they do other than separating and keeping the hair form being able to create friction against each other

you can use them to help two dreads combine or to hide a loop or kink in your hair, that's what i always thought ...

yea that and it keeps em from being pulled apart accidently also when u puh a bead on even undresded hair some hair gets pushed up creating unevenness and minor looping this giccves u the right conditions for knots to form fast

they mostly should be thought of as decoration not to help drerdds but they have the added benifit of helping

I just put a couple in to hold two apart they were turning into a nest of one giant loc ...I know it wanted to go into a giant loc but really it was huge and looked like a rat ...I split it ..it would go back over and over ...so I split it and put beads on each one as place holders
