palm rolling won't help at all, in fact it will probably just slow the locking process down by undoing any knots that may be trying to form. we hear all the time people complaining about either their roots or tips not dreading. It's just the way it goes sometimes. There's not much you can do besides accept it. I know a mama that has 3 year old dreads and her roots are still 3 inches of un-dreaded hair. So go with it. It's not such a bad thing, right? Many Blessings

My roots dreaded up really fast by sleeping on a wool sweater. My hair is straight but very thin so it's more controllable

actualy washing less males em less oily and u can use sea salt on the hair not scalp and thyme tea (left on) on the scalpalso when u wash..hot wash freezing rinse the wash opens pores and cleans em out then the colds seals em back up also cuticles too so u retain healthy oils without over producing more katie l largent said:

That's where the acceptance comes in. I'm not saying yours will take 3 years but you never know. You can accept it, get over it and try to move on and appreciate what ya got or dwell on what you want and don't have. :o) Maxe said:
Wow 3 years and 3 inches still!...now you're scaring me NaturalWomyn! :P ..cause I think it's a really bad thing, gives the dreads (at my length at least) a really tired and..inflated look as opposed to more lion-many look. Loose roots is the only thing I don't like about my dreads right now, I can wait 6-12 months for them to knot up...but 3 years is pushing it! :P
