I too am mixed with some crazy curly hair. In fact at first glance people can't tell if I'm dreadding or just have my hair messy. The wax came out fairly easy for me, I am sure there is still some in there, though the dreads that have come apart are as dry and wax free as when I got them. Just let it be you will find your hair might not get loopy if it is more on the nappy side. Really for me the straight hairs have rebelled the most, and the gray hair. Did you have a perm before or any chemical treatment to your hair, that will add a fun dimension.
u will need to use excessivly hot water and loads of dawn dish sosp or better yet wax b gone followed by dawn if it was never melted in it might come out easy tho

Welcome to the community Chanel. Your eyes are very hypnotizing and beautiful. What did you use to remove the wax? Just in case you don't know, it takes more than one try to get it all out. Rubber bands are not recommended as they will cause weak spots in your hair, they can also slowly melt with warm water and stick inside the sections. Hard to get out once that happens. The sections you have created will need to move around to become mature dreads, rubber bands will hold them back from doing this.
You will find a wealth of healthy information in the dreaducation section at the top of the site, if you have any questions, we are all here for ya....enjoy your journey, it's a fun ride...Peace
Welcome. I guess you've already been told about how destructive crocheting is for locks. So I hope I don't need to go into it further. Crochet hooks are sold in art stores, and not salons, for a reason. They aren't designed to be used on anything as fragile as single hairs. There is no such thing as a "safe" way to crochet your locks. It only does severe damage, and delays progress by about 6 months, or more
