most because they made the same mistakes and had to start over

Welcome. Why would you add wax for smell? Wax is used to prevent your locks from locking while creating the illusion of having dreadlocks. If you want to add something for smell, use essential oils. The are healthy fr your hair and won't cause them to rot.

Also, I think I mentioned before, The crochet hook will only cause damage to your locks.

your ruining your dreads that way and u got to remove the wax and throw away the hook

Welcome. Sorry, but you're too soon into the dreading process to notice any real damage. There's a lot of proof, a lot of people's experiences, with wax and crocheting to show that it's harmful to your hair over time. Wax, crocheting, etc. just makes your hair look dreaded quicker, but in reality it stops it from making progress. If you only want the look of dreads, you might as well get those synthetic dreads; at least there's no chance of it hurting your actual hair that way.
