Welcome. What natural soap? Most natural soaps have conditioners in them, and leave residue. Just because they are natural, doesn't mean they are good for locks

Welcome. Eagle's right about the hook. You "need" to do it over and over every few months because every time you pass the hook through your locks, it rips hundreds of hairs. Then hundreds more on the way out. This creates tons and tons of broken hairs that are loose and pop out of your lock making them frizzy looking. If you left your locks alone, in about a year, those hairs would get sucked back into your locks and they'd only be the normal amount of frizzy that all locks are. There's no such thing as dreadlocks that don't have any frizz popping out.

The whole point of dreadlocks is that they are a hairstyle that completely takes care of itself. If you need to do anything to maintain them, you're causing severe damage
