Hi everyone! My dilemma is that I have always wanted natural dreads, bumpy loopy twisty beautiful dreads, but because of my job, they do need to look someone "maintained."I started with backcombing a month ago and was wondering if they will get some of the natural characteristics as time goes on... I don't do anything to them now, but they are still lookin pretty darn smooth...Truth be told, I want to avoid having REALLY messy dreads, although I find them attractive, to move up in the culinary arts field you have to look pretty sharp. Thanks guys and gals, any tips/experience/opinions are greatly appreciated!Love, Tina

I already have to, but it's see-through

Are they long enough to wear in a braid or bun? Putting them in one before the hair net would probably make them look a lot more uniform

Yes actually they are in a bun all the time while I'm at work, but do you think my backcombed dreads could end up more natural looking? Should I start over?

I would say try just letting them go and only washing/separating them for a few weeks. If they don't seem to be changing you might have to comb them out and start over.
