Welcome. Here's a link to a video I made about how bad palm rolling can be. if you don't do it often, it won't create any lasting knots. It only makes them look neater for a few hours. if you do it often enough, it will severely destroy your locks.
Enjoy the site and the light feeling when yours are wax free....peace

Hi!! i'm so glad i found this page when i did! i started looking up how to best care for my baby dreads a few weeks ago and stopped using wax!! I used a really soft beeswax (luckily) but after seeing all the info on the harm it does to dreads I bought some Dax vegetable shampoo online and have been washing my hair with that and dr. bronners and hot water...hopefully that is okay?? My hair feels way better and I'm still scrubbing just to make sure everything is out! Thanks!
Welcome. How have you started to get the wax out? Wax is a hydrocarbon. Which means it's pretty much waterproof. No amount of hot water and normal soap will get it out. In 10 years, it will still be there. To clean out wax, you need a good detergent, and some serious scrubbing. It can take about 1 month to be sure it's all gone.

http://www.dreadlockssite.com/video/why-not-to-palm-roll
welcome but stop rubbing and rolling (i hope no wax was used) palm ri]=olling does nothing but can cause pernenant harm
the clockwise rubbing can severely weaken the roots thin the dreads and oull 1/2 your hair right out of the scalp
if no wax was used then leave em alone wash and seperate thats it (take out any rubber bands right away!)
if wax was used and your under a month comb em out and start over right
if over a month use wax b gone and keep using it long ad=fter your sure the wax is gone ax is pure evil in dreads
Welcome to the community Sunny. glad you found this to help you out......keep working on the Bees wax, Wax B Gone from www.dreadlockshampoo.com is the best stuff I heard. Also Dawn dish soap can be used. .... http://www.dreadlockssite.com/forum/topics/waxing-dreadlocks-with-dread
