your dreads are gonna look great. I answered your question on my photo, but thought i would elaborate here. My dreads were a combination of many techniques. There are about 30 of them. Back combing, t&r braids and a whole area on the back of my head was left for neglect. I just never got around to doing that area and one morning SURPRISE there were knots lol. My dreads are around 3 yrs old now and i can't see or feel much of a difference between them. I don't do any maintenance. I wash them about once a week and separate them at the scalp once or twice a month. So no matter how you start them (as long as it isn't with a hook) they will turn out looking the same in the end.
