Welcome. Eagle's right about wax. If you've used it from the very beginning, you're lucky they've lasted this long. Wax prevents locks from maturing. I'd bet that the hair on the inside of your locks is still not actually mature yet. The hair on the outside may have covered the wax, but it's still there.

What, if anything did you use to get rid of it? Wax is a hydrocarbon. It'll never wash out in normal soap and water, no matter how hot the water. It needs a detergent to clean it out.

welcome but rastas do not use dread wax and dread wax u=is a scam and dread killer u musrt remove all traces of wax wich is very very hard to do wax is the number 1 cause of cut dreads..its evil stuff

Welcome. What "combo" are you looking for? Any products besides shampoo and water will do more damage then good. There's only 2 gels that have been found that do anything to help your locks with anything
