You should also not be maintaining them every day. Separating them should only be done once, maybe twice, a week. And palm rolling is really pointless. If you have to do it every day, each individual time doesn't do anything. It's just a quick fix for a few hours at a time. And if you do see any progress from palm rolling, you're actually doing some major damage to your roots. It doesn't show up right away, but in a few more months you'll see that the new growth is much thinner than the rest of the lock, and will not be able to support the weight of a mature lock in the future. Check out my video on why not to palm roll
welcome but crochet was a huge mistake its very very bad for dreads contrary to what baba said its worse then wax wax can be removed crochet damage is permenant
Welcome. But crocheting is the close second to wax in mostextremelydamaging things you can do to locks. check out the dreaducation page and the recovery forums.
All it does it create new broken hair that end up "needing" to be crocheted, which breaks more and more hair. It weakens you locks and over tightens them to the point where they may snap off at some point when they grow out and weigh more

Welcome, but neither Knottyboy or DHHQ products were ever actually designed for locks. Both arehorrendouslyharmful to your locking progress.
Dreadlockshampoo.com makes amazing soaps specifically designed for locks and can be used in hard and soft water equally.
