It does have SLS in it, which is a detergent. It can work a little. But it's extremely toxic. If hey haven't shipped it out yet, I'd try o cancel the order.
It is better than Knotty boy shampoo. But it's still not good for locks
Practically any will do. Clarifying shampoos strip away oils. They do leave a small amount of their own. But that's ok. It will come away with time and continued washing with your normal routine.
I know it's not verydesirable, but a good clarifying shampoo will completely get rid of residue build up. You don't need a lot. In fact, you can get a travle sized bottle that is only good for 2-3 washes, and that's all you'd need.

crochet recovery takes a very long time
