Welcome. That gel may have left some residue. You could probably get away with just washing and separating if yu you only used it a handful of times. But if you used it over and over, you may want to get a clarifying shampoo and just do a one time wash with it to make sure all of the residue is out

Welcome. There are much better soaps to use that are not toxic at all. DHHQ and JB soaps are not meant to be used on locks. They are just repackaged with a cool colourful label. The ingredients are very toxic. Check out dreadockshampoo.com for healthy soaps. They are good in hard and soft water, too. So you don't have to worry about that.

welcome its very simple use nothing wash them seperate them thats it u dont need gunk in dreads to make dreads dread
just keep them clean thats it
sea alt will help tighten just dont over use
