Welcome to the community Mike. So you want to start T&R this Saturday, my tip to you is to let them naturally separate into their own sections first, wait a couple of weeks for this to happen. Your hair will tell you what it wants all by itself, then it's go time. I also did T&R, so read this to help you out before you begin them: (Dead URL) http://www.dreadlockssite.com/forum/topics/just-starting-out-what-to-expect/a>
Welcome. How are you "getting" them? If you're thinking of going to a salon, stop! Think first. Salons are the most damaging way to "get locks". In fact, you can't ever "get" them. Locks grow and form over time. It takes about 1-2 years for mature locks to form. Salons will only charge you money to delay this process, or prevent it completely. They use wax, gels, creams, interlocking, crochet needles, and a host of other methods that are 100% known to destroy locks and shorten their life span. If you only want locks for a year or 2, just make sure they don't use wax or gels. If you want them for life, forget it. They can't help you with that
