Welcome, you really need to stop using all the products your using and start getting the wax out now. Listen to Baba Fats he knows what he is talking about along with the rest of us will tell you the same darn thing. Wish you the best and Happy Dreading..
I feel like I have to let you know that wax actually prevents locking. It just glues hair together into what looks like locks. When your hair can't loop and form bumps, it can't actually tangle. Therefore, no locking. Because it is a hydrocarbon, it NEVER washes out in normal soap and water. It just gets sucked deeper and deeper into the lock, making it harder to get out. You need a detergent to get it out.
KB and DHHQ products are scams to suck people into thinking they need all sorts of products in order to grow locks. Nothing either company sells is healthy for locks.
You're lucky that you haven't been suckered into crocheting, yet. But before you do, know that it is the MOST destructive thing you can to locks. All it does is break hairs into smaller and smaller pieces, which makes locks weaker and weaker.
Palm rolling, too, makes your locks weak. It rips hairs out of your scalp, and thins out your roots. The wax is the only thing that makes the damage not show up.
Welcome. Using a crochet hook once to start does a lot of damage. It's not unfixable, but it does delay progress by about 6 months. It rips hairs into smaller and smaller pieces which makes them more frizzy. It over tightens your locks which makes them hard and stiff. And it makes them weaker and weaker over time.
If you want yours to last a lifetime, continuing to crochet them will not work.
