Welcome. Unfortunately, locticians don't actually know anything about how to keep locks healthy. What they know is about how to charge you for things you could do yourself.
Now I know I'm generalizing. But as a general rule, salons don't teach hair stylists how to grow healthy locks. And from what it sounds like, yours falls right into that category. Don't feel bad. So do the majority of everyone else's.
Back combing isn't a bad way to go. It does cause a decent amount of damage, but within acceptable limits.
The biggest concern is the twist gel and not washing often enough. If you have your locks retwisted more than 2-3 times a year, or you can see scalp showing in between your sections, you are creating a condition called Traction Alopecia. It is a primary cause of premature baldness.
Washing is also very important for locks. It removes excess oils, dirt, and buildup. If you don't wash often enough, your locks will take longer to mature since they can't form knots as easily
welcome but stay away from locticians they are the worse mistake you can make stop usung the gel stip backcombing and start wasghing way more minumum weekly but 2-3 times a weeks better
tell us every detail of what the locticin did and used
everything they do is wrong
Welcome. Eagle's right about washing more often. The younger the locks, the more often you should be washing. Baby locks need to be cleaned 2-3 times a week. Otherwise oils accumulate and slow down the process
u should wash way more often weekly is a bare minimum 2-3 times a weeksa much better
