what baba didnt mention is there is a point of no return
the dreads themselves are probly beyond that and will fall off
tho maybe nit till you have healthy dreads growing in and worse case u lose 8 inches
the real no return to worry about is the scalps condition the point where nothing will ever get the hair to grow back
nothing short of a transplant that is
as it is you have a long recovery
3 months min b4 the roots are loose enough a]to alow hair growth
3-6 montgs to see 60-80% regrowth
probly a year to fully recover
the damage youf=ve done at this point is very severe but not yet beyond hope (well the thinness of the roots probably is ..they most likely will fall off)
but i mean your not beyond hope of having healthy dreads
and keeping your hair
Welcome. I can completely understand that you want to look neat for work. There's no problem with that. The worry that I have is that you are destroying your hair. And I mean, "are", not "might be".
There are healthy ways to clean your locks up without making yourself go bald in the process. When you look at that pic with your wife and kid, you can not see your scalp. That's how it should be with locks. Whenever you can see scalp in between locks, you are creating a condition called traction alopecia. That directly leads to baldness.
Also, you can see that your roots are really thin. In time the lock will thicken up and weigh more. But if you keep working on the root, it will never thicken up. When, and I do mean, when your locks start to fall out, it'l be very noticeable.
We can't force you to change anything. We are just here to help you grow healthy locks. Yours are obviously not healthy, which may be the look you are going for. That's up to you. We'l always be here for you when you decide to fix the damage done
we are all just worried about ya man you let someone do that to ya and now u are in severe danger of losing all your hair all because u believe the lies they told you that thats a tidy look
it looks ridiculous scary not healthy at all
ive had corporate jobs myself ..with 100% natural unmaintained at all dreads and not once had there ever been an issue or a boss that dared to say i had to maintain them
i would think most would preffer a healthy head of dreads rather then 1 that looks like your going through chemotherapy and going bald
if those dreads are going to survive you must stop doing what your doing!
ouch dude i can hear your scalp screaming that looks like it hurts. i dont understand how that seems like a good idea..work is not worth going bald bro i would either quit dreading or start over pretty much because dreads are supposed to be a mess man
thats a look ahead at your future if you dont stop doing what your doing emedietly
you already have very severe damage in only 3 years
they wont last 5 at this rate
its easy to recover tho just stop\but if u dont stop soon recovery will mean a hair transplant costing u but 50 grand
dude thats scary you have 75% hair loss already look how thin the roots are compared to the sections yikes i would really recomend you start over but at least stop the interlocking u have months at most before they star t falling off yor a perfect example of why not to do that it looks painful
your aqlready going bald gfrim the interlocking! cant yiu see that? you never should see wide gaps at the scalp
thats traction alopecia and it will make you go bald
its not neat its diseased
Welcome. You won't regret getting the wax out at all
welcome your dreads will be a thousand times better when you get the wax out
Welcome. Good that you are removing the wax. It will take multiple washes with dish detergent and hot water. Or you can get wax-b-gone, which will take less washes to remove all the wax.
