REGRET

General Talk

I too did TnR only have 12 underneath but letting the rest naturally form which my hair has so many layers the back is going to dread before the front will.. No regrets here and I'm only going to be in my second week this Monday the 17th of my third set of dreads.

I'm a stay at home mom so I don't get out much that's why they didn't really notice. Now, everyone is noticing them.

Lol, my second dread set was just like this, but I only had my first set out for about 2 maybe 3 months at lease before I started my natural dread journey.

Wow! that's crazy that people don't even notice. I've had mine for 16 days now and people (my friends & family) noticed the second they saw me. However i was at a new years party and had them up in a scrunchy (they don't even look like dreads at all when they're up or when i wear a hat) and i took my hair down and the 3 people that i barely knew didn't notice or realize i had dreads until my friend started asking about it. "Oh you have dreads? cool" ... it's weird because i don't get how people couldn't notice!

That's what it was like with my first set of dreads.

My reaction has been mixed. My mom actually t'n'r half of mine lol she likes them. One of my best friends had a fit and said she forbade me to do my whole head, and my other best friend ignores them. Other than that I haven't had too many reactions except "ugh why?"

Those who know me well know I don't do anything without reason, so after I shrug they let it go. I'm curious how it will be once more people notice!

That all that matters right you love your dreads who care what they like right?

Joey mipanyarack said:

Exactly hippie love. That's why its funny how others view dreads. When it was forced and fake they liked it. Now that it is starting to get messy and recover they don't. Oh well, I like them no matter what

My friends are getting use to my messy baby dreads already so it was just all so new to them having someone they know with dreads.

stay positive , u have a good outlook about a negative comment so i think ll be fine. u have went through it twice before lol its all good right! i noticed bad reactions an neg comments almost immediately there r no dred heads around in my city Janesville WI there are some in Madison my states capital tho. so i dont have any dreded friends in physical form by me to spend time with just chat on here. but my breakup with my bf i was already dreding and he supported me on it 100% but there were tons other issues we had should say he had lol that led to us break after 3 yrs an engaged. i am a single mother of two now but i am pretty well used to it. lol i got this lol.

Joey the messiness is all of the process though. I love the messy stage.

Joey mipanyarack said:

Funny thing about mine is that I started with a dread perm so everyone noticed right away n said they look pretty good. Now 4 months later after just washing and seperating they are getting messy and dreading like they should and now everyone thinks they look bad. Crazy what peoples perception of dreads are

Lol, my husband notices everything I do to my hair or anything that matters. My Step father though he live in California and he been through my first 2 set of dreads in High School and loved them. Now that I'm a mother to my son and a wife. He still loves them and been following my third, but final set Dreadlocks Journey. My step brothers fiance loves them on me as well. Now I'm wondering what and when I start school again this next year January what all my new classmate will think. Thank god I have my step brother and his fiance will be in some of my classes.
