Dread dreads.

General Talk

It still baffles me how a stranger can just come and ask meifI wash my hair. Or ask me so defensivelywhy I would ever get something so "dirty". The looks I tend to get from people differ and is actually quite interesting to watch. They vary from just pure disgust to amazement.I really am not exaggerating. People stare.I cannot tell you guys how many times I've heard the " You have such beautiful hair, why would you dread them ? " speech. I like to think that this is just personal preference for some or that some people are just uneducated on dreadlocks. Or maybe its just predjudice. What is with society and the idea of conformity ? I just read in the chat that someone had to take out their dreads because of their job. My goodness that is sad :( I guess all I can do is try to show and explain to them the beauty in dreads.

Peace & love.

Dr.Bronners Tea Tree Review & Looping !

General Talk

Sorry, it's a bit lengthy & thorough.

Ok so I've just used the Dr.Bronners soapand I'm feeling quite happy ! So my hair feels completely stripped of all residueand at first I didn't really know how to feel about this. It was just something my hair was not used to. It feels awful, exposed my hair for all it's damageand has no natural moisture to it. I assume with time, my hair will adjust to the change and cooperate ahaha, but still it's not very pleasant. So what I did was use 1 table spoon (undiluted) and worked that into my undreaded hair and the dreads themselvesbecause my hair islong and I have quite a bit of it. Also,I felt that my scalp and hair really needed it, I especially wanted to get all the loosedry flakes completely out of my hair. Which for the most part didhappen ! :) Then I made a diluted rinse which Ikept on my hair for most of my shower, rinsing it off at the end. Another thing is usually I get really itchy almost immediatley after drying my hair but didn'tafter using Dr.Bronners, which is just the best feeling in the world!! If you didn't have to deal with a dry scalp you are trulylucky because it really is just the worst. One thing I did notice was just how different, but beautiful my natural curls look. Ialmost always wear my hair natural, but the soap has brought out the best in them :) In regards to my dreads, the only difference I could notice would be that theyfeel quitea bit tighter. The last and greatest thing about Dr.Bronners (besides the organic benefits) is it is a big time and money saver to be able to wash myself from head to toe with one product. :) GREATLY RECCOMENDED !!

Loops !! So I'll keep this simple and short. Pretty much, my dreads beggining to loop is just so far out. Couldn't even contain my amazement.

Love & peace to all !!

Drying dreads after washing

Dread Maintenance

Hello :) I know you got a lot of replies but what I do is get a towel and press on them from the root to the bottom. Then you can just air dry them. For me, the towel pressing just lets themdry much quicker. I dont rub on them !!Just press or squeeze them aha. I dont know which word is better to use :):)

Journey. Two Weeks

General Questions

It feels like I've had my dreadlocks for more thantwo weeks aha.Ihave washed my hair many times and they are still beautifully locked ! They loosened up and are not as stiff as they were. However, I am getting very itchy which is annoying. Im not really into using any special or chemical shampoo for the dry scalp bit, so Im trying to find a natural remedy. If anyone has any suggestions feel free to comment <3

Love & Peace to all.

Introduce Yourself

Regardless of all these little minor issues I'm having, I am absolutely in love with my dreads and finally for some odd reason, feel like myself. This summer was truly the summer of revelations and journey of healing. Love & Peace to everyone <3
