I've pondered about this a little bit.. The only reason I would cut it would probably be to donate it, if I could?, to Locks of Love or a similar charity. I mean it says "locs" C; why Wouldnt someone who needs hair want my dreads? Following this thred.

Help! Save My Dreads
You can wear a headband, just don't wear one that's constricting or is made with elastic. I wear a cloth head band, that also doubles as a hair tie, to work. You can also make head bands / hair ties out of old T-shirt parts. :D As for the loose hairs I really recommend the Lockin' Up Liquid soap from Vicki @ Dreadlocksshamoo.com . Peace and happy dreading

I wouldnt bother with root rubbing, the effects of it do not last and besides; frizzys are gunna frizz. Just let it be. Root rubbing can also cause baldness, increase in dandruff, and other problems listed by Soaring Eagle ^^. This is a great thread about thighting dreads..

Help! Save My Dreads
Dont fret love. One time I was checking my hair out in the bathroom, and a black beetle, moderatly sized?, crawled across my forehead hair line. I freaked the fuck out. No one has ever pointed out any bugs nor have I found anymore however, I think it just happens sometimes. Just like you occasionally find a spider in the house, ya know? i dont think boddy pins are a super great idea.. Does it have to be a bun? I work fast food and as long as its tied back somehow, it doesnt matter. Try rocking a ponytail of some sort of braid and ese how it goes down. Good luck and happy dreading!
