short baby dread updos

Dreadlock Styles and Dread Styling

an easy thing i like to do that looks cute is take back a dread behind each ear and pull em back like your doing a half up half down style & tie em up(i double tie them). then take a couple below that and just do a simple one tie then with the rest hanging down roll them up&tuck into the first tied dreads. looks simple and stylish&keeps them out of my way at work&is quite easy. if the description doesn't work lemme know i can try to do pictures to show how

well hiya.

Introduce Yourself

My dreads are only about a month old with some fully matured ones mixed in randomly from when I had natural ones form last year. I just had never kept track of those so I didn't really realize how long it took for them to naturally lock up. Where I'm living I have soft water, so I'm guessing that's why my friend said Dr. B's was fine for now. I will probably end up making my own soap for them(I make lotions&soaps already). But thankyou for the wisdom! :)

Introduce Yourself

I was told about this site from a friend when I was considering dreads and it helped me start.

I used the twist and rip method and some palm rolling to keep them semi tamed (work in the food biz). I want to do as much all natural as I can for the rest of the dreading process but I'm worried my hair is to fine and will start to come undone. Would just a sea salt spray occasionally help with making sure they don't come undone?

Also what about washing them? One of my friends told me using Dr. Bonners is an okay soap to use, and I don't wash it often just about 2 or 3 times a week. Is this wise or am I just prolonging the locking process?
