wool rubbing/salt spray

Dreading Methods

its not real effective it creates just a general knotty mes that then needs to be ripped apart into sections

your better off letting it dread naturally but sleep on a wool pillowcase

wool f]does help it dread but agressive rubbings not the best way to assist it wool tams and sleeping on a wool pillowcase otr sweatter covering the pillows better

uf u decide to wool rub do it only once

and dont crochet!

id really sggest you read the dreaducation page

it also shows that you crochetted that much look how stiff they are and they arent maturing your just weaving them the maturing will be delayeed a very long time in fact it can be 2-3 years delayed by what youve done they look too thin for the sections another typical sign of crochet abuse

stop today and if your lucky you'll see the 1st signs of actual dreading in about a year

Dreading Methods

seem to be but arent at all they take a severe amount oif damage to fall apart but your getting there everytime i crochet

a single 1 inch healthy dread should take between 1 and 3 thousand pounds to break it

crochetting weekly for a year will reduce that strength to just ounces

your dsreads althougfh they may still be string enough to support hundreds of pounds are still drasticly weakened from how they would be if left alone and each and every time you crovchet they get weaker still

when u split them u literally broke every single hair in them many times

think about it every hair in the dreads going in everyh direction jumbled up into a mas so splitting end to end your rupping every single hair dozens even hundreds of times

dreads can survive serius abuse but if you continue doing what youir doing the damage can be severe and permenant

wxactly

most crocheters waste 15 hours week poking holes in their dreads trying to maintain an unrealistic neatness

trust me ive seen plenty enough to know what im talkimng about and they all claim it does no damage but it does

we had 1 guy crochet an d dove in a pool only to see 4 dreads float away just from the impact with the water

and another had to run his dreds through a sewing machine to keep them from falling apart

there is no sich thing as a proper way to crochet..sure u can do much more damage if your agressive like most salons are cause it takes so damn long they are in a hurry

besides the damage it causes just doing it once to start delays dreading by 6 months

he is poking holes if hes using it to make a dread and youd be surprised at how much damage it does create

it doesnt matter how experienced he is

Dreading Methods

you cannot use a crochet hook without damage

ut used to be common practice when salons did frosting to pull hairs through holes in a form to bleach but they stopped that cause that gentle pulling hairs through a hole broke too many hairs

thats why now they do foil wraps

you cannot poke a hook through a dread or use it in any way on hair and not cause damage
