Dangers of sneaky hair tucking?

What are the dangers of tucking bits of loose hair into the root of a lock?
I know that obviosuly you're poking a hole in the loose hair, soon to be dready dread of a lock, but are there any dangers concerning....I dunno....how the hair falls in place at the root or anything?

How long (ish) does it take for the hair to lock up at the roots when it's left to its own devices would you say?
I know you (SE) have only about an inch (or so it seems from pics and stuff) of normal hair at the roots, how often does that hair lock up as it is replaced by new growth, etc. ?

we all shaved or started over dreadheadhq/knottyboy dreads the right way, wonder why?

My first locs were Knotty Boy ones....well, it was my first time?
I just didn't know :'(
I really dislike how they make it seem like it's nearly impossible to get locs without their products!
Such a stupid idea to plant in peoples heads...it's all for the money, what a terrible thing to "use" locs for :/
I have the greatest respect for everyone who has locs from the neglect method, I chose backcombing (but obviously with no products) and feel content with them, but the pure strong will that those with neglect locs have is groovy :')
Maybe one day we'll see a future where these "insta locs" sites dwindle and die...much like the poor dreads made with their horrible products :'(
