My roots

I was wondering if anyone could give me some tips on maintenance on the new hair growth. My roots are growing out straight and without wax I can't seem to help them knot up. Any tips would be awesome :)

u got to get the wax out of the dreads then leave the roots alone dreads will not dread with wax in them thats preventing dreads its just gluing it together u also crochetted..bad idea

so step 1 get wax out

step 2 throw away the crochet hook

step 3 wait

the roots will be loose a good while and thety need to be =do nothing to the roots at all they will dresad themselves

but u got to got to got to get all that nasty wax iout right away

http://www.dreadlockssite.com/forum/topics/dreaducation-comprehensive

start with reading that

when dresads are young they will and should have 1-3 inches loose undreaded hair at the roots this is movement room that alows it to dread

as they get older, thats reduced slowly by 8-13 months its 1/2 to 1 inch

and it needs to always have that bit of looseness to dread right

next read this

http://www.dreadlockssite.com/forum/topics/dread-wax-why-ya-dont-want-it

every page of it including the pics of whats srtuck inside waxed dreads even many years after wacxing

wax glues hair together simulating dreads but it keeps it from moving so it cant ever really dread

http://www.dreadlockssite.com/page/dread-wax-removal-is-finally

now that will helop you get the wax out so it will dread

the wax must be removed and the criochet stopped

oinly then will it dread right

Wax+loc=candle stick. Once the wax is gone you might be able to do some light circular root rubbing to help the newgrowth.

How long (ish) does it take for the hair to lock up at the roots when it's left to its own devices would you say?
I know you (SE) have only about an inch (or so it seems from pics and stuff) of normal hair at the roots, how often does that hair lock up as it is replaced by new growth, etc. ?
