Changes from year 1 to year 2?...

General Questions

Sweet! Yeah I make sure the very few loose hairs I have from the roots, find their way into a dread. ( most of the loose hair I have is in the dread bodies themselves, which im not worried about.)

Changes from year 1 to year 2?...

General Questions

That's cool. I don't allow new locks to form. I've heard they go from being locked the first year, to getting very, very tight during the second year, as well grow a lot, like you said.

Changes from year 1 to year 2?...

General Questions

I was just curious what the major changes were that you guys experience after the first year, all the way up to the second year. I'm almost to a year and was wanting to know what to look forward to!

General Talk

ok so i was just curious as to what they begin to feel like as they mature. mine are starting to feel more thick kind of, cushion-ee and thick if that makes sense.

not as much super hard and stiff.

Dread thickening

General Questions

What exactly happens that causes dreads to get thicker with time? And about how much thicker do they get on average?

baking soda wash problems

Dread Maintenance

ok so i made the baking soda wash according to how SE said but i just didnt put any essential oils in being as i dont have the money to buy them. anyway, i poured it over my head let it sit for about 5 to 7 minutes. then rinsed it out. after i got out and started to dry them i was feeling them and there is this gooish type stuff from the base to about an inch out. only in some dreads. i could literally squeeze it and whitish stuff would ooz out. it smelled kind of like the oil my scalp produces. it caused them to dry slower.

i dont know if this makes any difference, but, i wash once a week and wasnt able to, so it had been two weeks before this wash since the last time i washed.

anyone know what it was?

Introduce Yourself

Ok awesome. Thanks guys. I appreciate it a ton. To separate them, do I just feel around the base of the section then move towards the end? Not too sure how to exactly, except for what I just figured you should do. But thought I'd ask some people a little more experienced. Thanks

can cause an extreme congoing tendency so seperate wat more often and u should let them down just ss much so they can move
