lolim the opposite, my roots are locking up nicely, while everything else keeps coming undone! not hard to fix though :)

Separating dreads...

Dread Maintenance

my dreads are really loose at the roots, but they are dreading well, so well that every morning i have to separate them out from the big tatty mess they are in! I've kind of taken a lazy method of separating my dreads, and just want to check that its okay...i kind of just rip them apart until i get down to the root. there is a nice big rrrrip sound as i do it, effective, but is it okay or should i be gently separating my dreads? thanks!

A maintenance question for the moms out there!

Dread Maintenance

So ive had my TnR's for about 3 weeks now, and they are looking pretty good. However, I have a slight problem. I have two little boys, one is almost 2 and the other is 7 months, My 7month old has a real habit of sticking his hand out and grabbing a big amount of dread, and pull!! all i hear is the distinctive sound of hair being torn out :S. Any practical ways you used to keep your new dreads out of baby hands?! Thanks :)b
