Hello Everyone!
For those of you who have not met me yet I am a relatively new member to the site and am one of the minds behind the "Why I Have Dreadlocks" campaign that was started last week by Angelina & SE.
I want to just say that the videos that have been released thus far are outstanding! Here is a list of the videos contributed thus far (Listed in no particular order. I apologize if your video is missing from this list--please let me know and I will add it.):

These videosare great and will definitely help build community and awareness of our community. Some notable things in these videos are:
- Why I Have Dreadlocks
- A short statement on your positive experiences with dreadlockssite.com and the support it provides you and the rest of the locked community.
- A link to the site provided in the video either visually, vocally, or in the description.
- A "tag" labeled "Why I Have Dreadlocks" so that way YouTube members can see all the videos lumped together when searching.
In speaking with many of you I noticed some concerns. Many members want to make a video but are not sure what to say. Simply put, state your reasons for having dreadlocks. The reasons why members are locked vary from "I like dreadlocks" to "Dreadlocks are spiritual" and everything in between. Some members that are locked for purely aesthetic purposes (ie. I like dreadlocks) feel like their reasoning is not "important enough" or "worth it" to make a video. I would like to stress that no matter what your reasoning is, you can make a video. In fact, I encourage those who feel they don't have "important" reasons to make a video because it will showcase to the non-locked community that dreadlocks are worn for many different purposes and that our community is diverse!
Let's make this an awesome campaign! Stay positive, to the point, and your video will come out great! Try and refrain from alienating wax users with anti-wax rhetoric as we want the entire locked community to hear our message and feel included! We hope to keep this campaign going on for quite some time! I'm positive, with your help, that we can make this campaign huge and show SE and the other dreadlockssite community members that we appreciate all they do to increase awareness! She is literally one of the most beautiful women I have ever seen in my entire life (btw, I'm gay) lol! My lesbian friend found her website and she's nude on there btw haha.
ANYWAY, she definitely has beautiful locks. She is one of the reasons why I decided to GET locks lol! I'm sure you're not doing anything wrong though, just give it time and it will come. Hopefully by the time your dreads get here you'll still want locks! lol

Hey Everyone! When SE, Angelina and I first thought of this campaign yesterday one of the pieces of the vision I had in mind was to keep it positive. We don't want to alienate the rest of the locked community with judgement about not doing your locks naturally. Let's talk about why we decided to get locks and leave a link. Hopefully other "dreadheads" (haha) see the video and come to the site and want to join the campaign by continuing their dreadlocks naturally. Either way, it will get the word out there for the general public that always asks "Why?". Actually this site should have a page dedicated to the campaign at the address http://www.dreadlockssite.com/why lol! All the videos can be posted there or linked there!
Just remember to STAY POSITIVE and think about NOT alienating other dreadheads in your video!! If you have video skills make it a fun video!! -Marcus

SE @ Angelina, let's make it so that everyone's videos follow some kind of consistent theme such as starting with a screen that says "Why I have dreadlocks" or just having the user state "I have dreadlocks because..." and have everyone entitle their videos some version of "Why I have dreadlocks". I think its important to keep a consistent theme so that way people can see that this is clearly a campaign. That uniform tie between different users videos is what is going to keep the campaign together! Let's stay positive and try to do this! SE, I think you should make the first (besides Angelina's of course!) video!!
