Out of curosity which is worse?....crotchet VS. Backcomb

Dreading Methods

I know a guy that has to croche his dreads for about 12 houres a week (not even a year old yet) and all the dreads around the side are about 1/4 the size they were because the hair has become so damaged and brittle. all thats holding his dreads together is the shitty wax hes been covering them with.

never use a hook for a few reasons

1 - dreads become extremely weak in spots that yoy croche

2 - it can cause your dreads to be holding on by strands of hair and the gunk that you have to stick in it to make them not fall out as much

3 - you need to keep crocheing or the hairs keep falling out making an even bigger mess than they were last time you croched them

4 - cavemen didnt use croche hooks

im also not a fan of back combing either

1 - friction damages your hair

2 - they look too puffy for a long time (not good if you need to look semi respectable at work etc)

3 - most people today associate back combing with waxing/crocheing due to johny clean (who shal now be known as wank stain) to make the new dreads look maturer

4 - cavemen didnt use combs

yeah, basicly if cavemen didnt need to use hooks or combs for kickassed dreads why do we? just use ur hands some patience and some sea water :)

help

Introduce Yourself

just leave them be, worst thing you can do is try and fix them. let them fix themselves and tighten up over time. its totaly natural fot them to become loose

mini dreads growing from the middle of a dread

Introduce Yourself

should i try and bind the 2 mini ones together, i find that if u wrap a pipe cleaner around a dread overnight pretty loosly it tightens the dread alot and gets rid of loops that form aswell, 1 doesnt bother me but the really skinny one is too skinny for my liking tbh

mini dreads growing from the middle of a dread

Introduce Yourself

hey. not really concerned about this and tbh i kinda like it but just wana ask u guys if this is bad or what, i used the tnr method of locking without sectioning (i dont like neat pretty looking dreads) usin no products on my hair apart from water and natural soaps and a little bit of salt water as i fucking despise the hype on waxes n crocheing etc . started my dreads 3 months ago to the day and still aint finished.

anyways mid way up my 1 of my dreads ive found a mini dread has formed (and its really tight). its about 1/3rd the thickness of the dread that is before it and theres an even thiner one forming just below it lol (yes im aware my dreads are really frizzy, they are still young so just give them time :D)

so what d u guys think? should i try and get it back into the main body of the dread or leave it to do what it wants?
