Dreads Hair and Scalp Health

i actually think what i would do is cut the soap and just wash with pure water every morning. i guess my hair isnt that greasy cuz i find just rinsing my dreds a couple times a week keeps them feeling less scratchy on my neck... o i also play basketball for a team so its not like i never sweat :P

hey man just leave em be. they rule seriously. u might think they look bad now or sumthin but trust me dont trim, u want all the leingth u got. i baccombed and it turned out great! :D btw u look JUST like my bro. sept he dont have dreads... peace

What Made you decide to dread?

haha the reason i dreaded is cuz i had grown out my hair, then very stupidly did a permanent streighntener cuz i hated ironing my hair. the chemical procces destroyed the natural nutrients of my hair and broke of a ton at the scalp. my hair was origanally thin, but i hated how it looked. one day i stumbled upon a picture of an orangatang with dreads and it was an epiphany :D

and since my hair was so messed up, they r compleatly rock solid locked and its only been 4 mo

i guess there is always a good side of things :D

Dread Maintenance

so i have this dread thats really short and skinny (the one im pointing at in the pic), but it's section is big.

the reason being (i think) is that its on my temple and my hair is really fine there. anywys it looks kinda crappy, and i was wondering if there was any magical way to poof it out so it looks bigger, cuz right now it almost looks like a bald spot.

which it isnt.

Anyone else with experiences like this?

like the title says my dreads are extremely short...

excruciatingly short...

but they're locking up fine and i was just wondering how fast they grow after they compleatly lock.

also if anyone has had experience with short dreads give me some tips por favor!

thanks guys! i will use this information to come to the best conclusion.i have heard of just taking the loos hairs and balling them up by eather rubbing the tip on your palm, or rolling/twisting them up into blunted ends. has anyone tryed this?? how did it work??
