Un-dreaded Bangs

Dread Maintenance

The thing is i dont mess with themexcept when there in my eyes i shove it out of the way. I've even backcombed them but they just fall out when I shower. I plan on getting some of your nag champa dread soap.. but mostly for the scent :)

Un-dreaded Bangs

Dread Maintenance

Yeah, maybe "bangs" is the wrong word. Its just hair that is missing out on being dreads ha!

I don't have bangs, like completely undreaded ones, but I, also, have a bunch of loose hairs around my hair line. In fact, one of my locks right there is about a foot long but is only holding on by a really thin root (if I squeeze it with 2 fingers, the touch like nothing is in the middle). I've tried everything to keep them together. It's not close enough to another lock to combine them.

If they are long enough, you could put a bead over 1 lock and pull the loose hairs through with it. You could try TnRing them to make small locks that will eventually be pulled in to others

Un-dreaded Bangs

Dread Maintenance

Hey everyone!

My dreads are well over a year old, and I love them more than ever due to the support and advice I havereceivedfrom this site.

My question for you is how do you get your bangs to dread? My hair isnaturally very fine and soft and I have a lot of loose hair around my hairline/bangs area. I know that dreads "pick up" the loose hairs over time, but due to the amount of movement and brushing my hair out of my eyes I just cant seem to make any progress.

So how do you deal with the loose hair and/or how did you get them to join into your other locks?

Much Love!

The reasons i dontcrochet: 1) a crochet needle is stronger than hair isflexible, thus, logically, hair will be broken and THATS never good. 2) My dreads are waaay to dense to fit a thick needle through, let alone a freakin hook!

help!!

Dreading Methods

I have really thin straight hair and when my dreads finnally passed the shrinking stage they were about half as long as my unlocked hair. so just be prepared for alot of shrinkage.

happy dreading!

Dread Accessories

if i were you i wouldnt worry. the more u worry the less of a fluid experience they will be. but ya. tye em loosly or wear a wool tam or sumthin like that. i've read that ponytails actually help the dreading proccess but u gotta separate more or else you'l get a mono-dread lol
