i dont think its stealing culture. even if it was, whats wrong with people sharing cultures? people typically just talk what they dont know. its never smart to speak out of ignorance. like as soon as some1 hears "dreadlocs" they think jamaican rastas". when actually that religion/way of life was discovered/founded by a man in america & wasnt taken to jamaica til later. even so, there are 3 if not 4 times as many people in india with locs than there are in jamaica. & in india thats been done for thousands of years. as it has been in many other places. but none of that matters to me. hair is hair. if you like the style then get it. who cares who "did it first". thats childish & there are bigger things in life to focus on.

nice to see you on the site sierra. ive had my locs for a couple of years(about3) & i love em. though i must admit they were a bit much to deal with for me at first but once they locked it was all good. hope you enjoy your loc journey! ^_^

The term "Nubian" is a replacement for "dread". Many people see the term "dreadlocs" as something negative as in our locs being "dreadful", while others see the term in a different light as in the person wearing them being "feared and dreaded" or something to that effect. There is no difference on how they are done from dreadlocks. its the same thing just another "name" or "label". I didn`t see it until i went to a hair assesory site and she called them nubian locs, and i thot owww that sounds kul lolz. so now i just call mine that, tho the label is no big deal to me tho i just prefer that 1 kuz it sounds kul.Hoped that helped!

thnx for the linksyes id want to separate but i think maybe sense mine are started already i wont have as much bush as he does because its kinda already a bit organized(my dreads). i think im gana go ahead and leave it then and let it free form i think its gana take a lot of will power tho

oww ok ill check out yur pix. my hair is so thick tho im afraid itll be so puffy like i have a fro under my dreads. and my scalp at the crown easily feels irritated when i have all that loose hair but i think its because when its loose like that i mess with it so much. ill see if i can deal with it. i wana try it but i think itll take me a while to get use to all that loose hair i have at my crown. maybe if i find something for my irritable scalp itll be easier to deal with.
