Can I use natural bar soap on hair?

My brother got me some bar soap for christmas. Its called filthy farmgirl soap. Its all natural. I wondered if this would be ok on hair or if it would leave residue? How do you know if a soap or shampoo will leave residue?

fixing lose hairs when or if?

I have had my dreads for 5 months. I did the back combing method. They are coming along nicely, very knotty. Some people crochet their lose hairs in the dreads. I was wondering if this was a good idea? If so when is it ok to do this? When are dreadlocks considered mature?
