So, what's the best way to dread?

Dreading Methods

I would suggest you look at some pictures of tnr, backcomb and separation method dreads to See which style you like best. Also how much time you have and if theres anyone who can help you if you decide to tnr or backcomb. separation method is easier because all you have to Do is wash and separate them, with tnr and backcomb it is going to take hours and would Be better if you had someone to help you with it, but not necessary. In the end they all will take about the same time to turn into real dreads. Keep in mind that all methods except the neglect method, involve some ripping and breakage of the hair. Its all part of the natural dreadlock journey :)

How to keep roots stronge?

General Questions

hi, this are all pure essential oils that are really good for scalp and hair repairrose, sandalwood, lavender, geranium, chamomile, rosemary, cedarwood, sage, myrrhpeppermint, ylang ylang, clove and aloe plant. there is still more, but that should give youa good start. and yeah you don't want to use to much especially on young dreads.you could try to mix 2 to 3tbs of food grade or plant aloe in a small spray bottleand than add a couple drops of some of the above essential oils to it, fill therest with water and shake and spray it on your scalp and hair when needed.another thing in you can do in addition is add some drops of the essential oils to yourshampoo bottle that you use and clock wise rub it in to your scalp for a few minutes thanrinse as usual. hope that helps :)

Congoing at the Roots

Dread Maintenance

hi, i am very worried about my dreads. every time i wash them they congo like crazy atthe roots, and then i have to rip them. some of my dreads are really small, and i am worried if i have to keep ripping them there going to break off. i waswondering if tying up my roots with hemp for a week or two might prevent themfrom congoing. what do you think?
