how often do you wash in the summer?

Dread Maintenance

just wash when you think theyre dirty, seriously

theres no science to it so dont sweat it

pun intended... im like 23 months or somthin and i wash maybe every other day. i get dirty at my job tho

its just hair, the less you worry the more youll be happy with it. if you think its dirty, it prob is so wash it.

natural timeline

Member Journals and Timelines

hello fellow knot heads

this will be my ongoing natural timeline which began in august of 2010

first, a brief dread history of my own. the set in this timeline is my second. the first was a backcombed set done in 08 or something. after the combing i washed with dr bronners and at first was a little obsessed with crocheting, which i got over and eventually did nothing but wash.

my dad cut like 5 off in my sleep one morning after he broke into my moms house. needless to say, after the ensuing fight between us, i decided to cut them off as he had decidedly ruined them.

first set:

after the cut:

needless to say i grew my hair out in the next year or so and decided to go the natural route.

i began washing only with diluted dr bronners and/or baking soda. also stopped using conditioner obviously

after about a month:

i got bored one day and tnr'd a dread dead center of my forehead:

it looked like this for awhile:

i started to get some definition around 7-8 months probably:

after about a year and a couple months i began to actually look like a dread head:

more progress. some older dreads begin to feel mature:

gained some length. also, became a pirate:

created a dread mask, 4 months or so past a year:

1 year, 6 months. YAY recognizable rasta man!!! (sorry for mushy gushy kissy wissy)

20 months, most recent progress:

dread wraps

General Questions

take them off every time you wash

make sure your loccs are dry before you put them back on

as long as they arent too hard to pull off then they arent hindering the dread that they're on

swed
