No i've been washing with the BS every 3 days for 2 months.
I didn't know it made it soft though. so that made me think i may have used too much?
I'm working on getting a wool tam too. this nylon/cotton one really sucks.
I had some decent baby locks forming then poof..after my wash they were gone.
Perhaps i should add sea salt to my BS. i'm lost on this now haha. i thought i had it under control.
I started my locks about 2 months ago. I took a shower and washed with BS and every knot and little dread that started fell out completely.
i have soft hair and it feels like i brushed it. i know they tend to fall apart then reform, but it really doesn't seem to be reforming.
I have hard water with a softener. and i use sea salt from time to time when i remember. (because of me neglecting my hair)
I tend to wear a large winter like nylon cap during the day and once in a great while i put on my Hemp tam at night.
Just looking for some advice and comfort that something didn't just go awry and back track me 3 months.
Also i try to browse this site for people with natural locks and see how their locks look.
So i would like people with the neglect method to post some for me so i'm not trying to browse the 30k plus photos.

In my down time, I did a little reading of their bible. To me it seems like they call it Satanism because you're not believing in a one true god. Or a god in general for that matter. But the belief in ones self. it's more of an atheistic view but with the belief of spirituality and a knack for magic of all the arts, such as Paganism.
I myself don't see a problem with that, nor do i see one in others believing in the devil. I'm not one to judge your beliefs or your reasoning behind it. However I do know that Satanism isn't really just about the devil and sacrificing goats to him.
but more of the fact that you don't believe in god and fate and destiny. and see it as you're the captain of this life vessel. and you chose to do what you want to do. Just like in the garden of Eden, Satan never forced Adam and Eve to eat the apple, but instead gave them the choice, whereas God just plain said NO.
God did force down a lot of commandments, Lucifer gave you the power of option.
Side note: Satanism really is a bad choice in title, in my opinion.
but don't quote me on any of this, my religion is a little shabby. been awhile since i did my religious enlightenment readings.
What may I ask, Does the hard water do to your hair/dreads?

I'm new to this site but have been lurking it for a few weeks now.
Last week i began my Dreads journey via natural.
At this point i've washed it twice with BS/water and during the day at home i wear a hemp tam.
at work though i keep it tucked under a large knit cap, to prevent oil or anything getting into my hair and forcing another wash.
right now i am seeing my hair begin to twist and just look fuzzy. no worries for me i know that's the process, thanks to the info I've gathered here.
at the nape and back of my head is really getting there fast too in my opinion.I did a few TNR but thought it was a little silly looking and gaudy on me so i undid them and am now letting them do what they want.
I sleep on a wool blanket occasionally to just speed things up, but i'm not in that much of a hurry. I guess because at a slower pace i can control and be aware of their condition and separate if needed.
I suppose that's it for that, I'm glad i found this site and am now in a situation where i can actually get dreads. I've wanted them for many years but always something standing in my way.
I'm not really sure why i wanted them, I was just drawn to them and loved the whole religious, spiritual aspect behind them. I myself follow Buddhism; not that it matters but hey...better late than never, and boy oh boy am i excited.
I am aiming for dreads to look like this [see below] and was wondering if i could acquire them using the Natural method?
I am new and have been stalking this site for some time. joined, and now just getting my info before i begin. 
to me these look like they've been crocheted but hey I'm not an expert. that's why I'm here. I also understand i will never get them to look exactly like this but in general i'm looking for the size and length the same.
