dreaducation, comprehensive guide to all things dready

Dreading Methods

i have read most of this post and a lot of the comments but i have 2 questions.first off, when you are waiting for your hair to dread, can you wash the roots? also, how often should you wash the roots while waiting for your hair to dread, and how often after it has dreaded?second, i have short hair at the moment (less that five inches long and not dreaded) should i wait till it grows out and then let it dread or should i let it start dreading now?also i plan on using the twist and rip methodthank you for taking the time to reply to my post!
