Thin hair Question

Dreading Methods

i think it would work better if you either left the braids in or didn't do them in the first place. i think the texture would wash out and be a waste of time, and i think it's best to let dreads section themselves naturally. the roots take to dreading a lotbetter when they get to choose where they want to be rather than where you put them. some sections of hair really don't like being clumped together like you'd think they would. you could stop brushing for a few days until your hair starts naturally sectioning a little bit and THEN do the braid thing. i just ended up getting a lot of dreads that decided to become 3 or 4 dreads at the root instead of 1 so i pretty much had to undo all of my dreads from my initial sectioning.

i know a girl with BEAUTIFUL dread who used braids. she had the braids in for about a month with rubber bands holding them in place, and then just took the bands out, she didn't undo the braid itself though... i assume they formed up quite like the twist n rip, since tnr is like a big twisty braid anyway (or at least mine were) :0)

Creative things to do when snowed in?

General Talk

make delicious bath salts using epsom salt and fragrance oils and cooking spices! you can add food coloring and make them striped and cute looking too.

Decided to redo dreads

General Questions

they will get fatter andthe christmas tree thing is normal, but i think the loose hairs you are talking about at the root kinda sounds like broken hairs from the salon nightmare. theywill recover with time.

now.... i'm kinda confused about this "Would my dreadlocks be more natural and healthy for my hairif I just leave the crocheted dreadlocks to recover or comb those out and redo them?"

i would redo any dreads at all that had been interlocked. interlocking really fucks dreads up andwill forever causelots of tension in the dreads because of the twisting done at the root. it's horrible, trust me. they will hang weird and you will have an obvious weak spot in your dread.

Has dreadlocks increased your sex appeal?

General Talk

definitely. i get approached allllllll theee tiiiiiiiime now. it's crazy! i'm not single, but i'm a leo so i happen to love it. :-/ hahaha it's very flattering

i also think it's because dreads are basically a walking conversation piece and a good excuse to touch someone. an "easy in". haha

white tipped roots stickin out.

Dread Maintenance

thats just the hair that would naturally fall out every day. it's not caused by anything, humans just shed hair, only ours is stuck in our dreads so we sometimes notice the little hair root when we're two inches away from the mirror. no big deal :)

if it really bothers you maybe you could use a sharpie?! hahaha i dunno, i doubt anyone notices.
