Bangs with dreadlocks...what to do

Dreads Hair and Scalp Health

how long have you had dreads/bangs? after a while the dreads learn their place and stop eating the long bang hairs it seems like. i had mine long and flowing before and didn't really have any issues after a couple months. then i cut them short and it looks like a different hairstyle. i just like the versatility that bangs give me, but it is a pain in the ass because i have to get them wet so they aren't sticking straight out before i leave the house.

greasy feeling creamy coating on my scalp WTF?!

Dread Maintenance

i think taye is right about this. i stopped regularly brushing a long time before i actually got dreads and i've had this scalp thing for just about as long, using all different kind of shampoos. and even now, i use the maylees bars, not the bs, and i have it. mine doesn't stink and it doesn't gross me out. i thought it was normal hahaha

No idea whether I have leftover baking soda in my hair, dandruff, or something else...?

Dread Maintenance

i'm confused by your reply. i wasn't trying to be rude... i wasjust trying to saythat i think it is just skin, and not baking soda since i have it too and i don't use baking soda. and thati wouldnt worry about it unless it's stinky or flaking off or something...

so would've i said:

Easy enough for you to say.. Didn't you notice in the subject of this thread that I said I wasn't sure whether or not it was dead skin cells?

Eva Lovelocks said:

unless it stinks, who cares? it's just skin and it's normal.

i have it (always have since i stopped regularly brushing), and i don't use the baking soda wash, so it's not caused by that.
