when will this phase end?

My TnR dreadlocks are 9 months old (1 week shy) and I dig them. I have been way more patient than I thought I would be and have learned to embrace the journey without losing my mind trying to make my hair do what I wanted it to do (pointless anyways, right?!) That being said, I have lost a lot of length (to be expected) and while my roots are tightening up nicely it is my ends that are driving me nuts right now (for the last 2 months really). I have included a pic so you can see (please excuse the webcam, before bed, jammies pic). It seems like as they mature they are forming dread clumps/balls where the length will fold up on itself many times until there is this clump of hair, which is annoyning because I wanted skinny dreads and now they are fat, but only at the bottom or in the middle wherever the clump happened to form. Then at the end of the clump/ball is a bunch of undreaded strands of hair that just look all tangled up and scraggly. So, I know this is a phase, but it seems like it has been doing this forever (like 4 months now) and I am wondering what happens next? Will my dreads eventually eat up this undreaded hair at the end and become VERY short? I thought that my ends would just remain undreaded and wavy (what I wanted), but it seems like they are gonna form more blunted ends.
Also, I have not touched my hair and don't want to dye it or cut it, but I was wondering what if I cut the loose hair off the dreads? Would that speed up the process or weaken the ends?
I know ultimately I will continue to be patient and do nothing, but I don't like this phase really. I wanted dreadlocks not dread clumps will this remedy itself or will I have dread clumps forever??

I have laundered everything it hot water+white vinegar+GSE(grapefruit seed extract). My daughter and I soaked in a bath of the same+TTO(tea Tree oil) and left it on our hair, no rinse. we will don this every morning for the next few days and see how we fare. I think that should do it. My daughter is only 18 months old and has very short (baby), white hair--we have no itching since the bath, which is a good sign. Will keep you posted, but I am pretty confident that this will work based on my research. Alos, I think that delacet is discontinued it looked like a good product.
thanks to everyone for your prompt help!
Thanks for the support, but I don't even use bleach on our clothes or floors and I would NEVER use it on my hair or body! BAd news!! I would shave my head before that, honestly. I really appreciate your consideration thoughI know you said no chemicals, but you could bleach your daughters and your head, thats a pretty sure fire way to get rid of them.
other then that i would say use a little rubbing alcohol dab it on your head, some ppl actually use a good bit wear a bag or a shower cap and suficate those little bastards and wash again.
you will have to do this every 2 days to get rid of them, due to there reproduction.
You could try ACV but i dont think thats going to do the trick, i would try the delacet
thanks

You need to come join the Incredibly Shrinking Dreads group. I have had the same issue. My hair shrunk from my bum to my shoulders- and I live in very dry Colorado- so apparently they will shrink no matter what the climate is. and I felt so ugly with big fat ends etc. I'm just about to my 8 month mark and things are getting better. I wrapped some of the fat ends with embroidery floss and that has made a huge difference. What looked fat from folding over and over itself, is actually not fat at all- just not completely tightened yet. I promise it will get better. Oh, and I can't do ponytails right now either- but I've been finding new ways to work with my dreads. It just takes time. Hang in there.
