Hair Length: What's too long?

Introduce Yourself

I was worried and seemingly unable to dread my hair using backcombing and/or twist-and-rip on my very thin hair that went past my bottom, even after braiding it to make is frizzy.. I cut almost half of it off...about 14". I am doing my own dreads, alone, so it's been tough. My hair has thinned-out a lot due to meds and diet.

I could have kept my awesomely long hair, couldn't I? *Sigh* Any advice? I'm still trying to finish, and have the lower half done. I have straight, dark, but thin, "white" hair. Any advice is welcome!

Starting Dreads: Non-residue Shampoo

General Questions

Baby Shampoo is a great 'everyday' shampoo, but I don't recommend washing your hair everyday to anyone, regardless of dreads. Cost ranges from $2 - $4 USD.

If you really want to do a DEEP CLEANING there is Nuetrogena Residue-Free Shampoo, but I don't recommend using that more than 3-4 times per month, b/c it really works.

Both items can be found at any local drugstore or you could go to the Walmart on Dougall Ave. (I cheated and looked it up. I'm in FL though.)
