The truth of Backcombing is Unraveled (literally)

Dreading Methods

yeah, I kind of love the look of my natty crazy hair right now. It's all coming undone but I've heard enough stories to believe that it's just all part of the process. I have fairly straight medium thick hair, so I'm sure it'll take longer then my lucky African American cousins. Just gotta keep at it!

General Questions

Dreading has taught me many thingsI have never been much for my looks. Wake up, get dressed, and go kind of thing. For the last 8 months my hair has been a rats nest. But it's different since I've been dreading. I've learned to love my look, no matter what it is.i have a lot more natural style now. Hand made clothes. i'm learnin to sew so I can make some clothes of my own.I've learned patience. I've never been much of a patient girl. I'm only 13. But now, It's much easier for me. As you all know dreads aren't exactly an over night thingI've been a lot more relaxed. I used to get worked up a lot. and I mean a LOT. I still get worked up fairly easily on a few topics, but back to the patience thing. I'm working on it. But most things, I just take them and keep going. Especially insults.Insightful post brother

dread products ..home made vs store bought

Dread Products

I use dr. Bronners too, uncented. I get it in them bars though cause it lasts a lot longer for me and it's much more inexpensive, which is nice cause I don't got a lot of money to spend. I've had the same bar for goin on 4 months now

I'm so glad I found this site when I did. Which was only an hour ago ;)I's about to spend my hard earned money on some lock peppa and 15 dollar wax from dreadheadhqFrom what I've been hearin on these forums, there's no way I'll be buying anything from them any time soon!I've heard that Aloe Vera is good to use on the dreads though. I have a half head of fuzzy dreads (just started, never finished the back of my head) Some people have said that coating them in the aloe vera gel that you use for sunburns etc, is good for keepin them together but not slowing down the locking process? is that good?
