washing tips

Dread Maintenance

Thank you for throwing this out here hah I just used this method and my dreads are EXTREMELY soft! Knottysleeves said:
I use a big clean bottle. Throw a teaspoon or so of baking soda in there, fill it up with warm water (not super-hot... you don't want to burn your scalp!) and shake until the baking soda is fully dissolved. I add a couple drops of essential oil too, like cedarwood or peppermint, but it's optional. You can also add a tiny bit of salt (like less than a teaspoon) to help tighten your dreads.

Prepare a second big, clean bottle. Fill with warm or cool water and add a splash of ACV (apple cider vinegar) or lemon juice.

Slowly dump the baking soda mix over your head, making sure to cover all areas of your scalp and dreads. Leave it on for a few minutes, then rinse with the ACV mix. Leave that on for a couple minutes, then rinse well with plain water. That's it!

PS -- you should contact Jonny Clean and complain about your purchase. He claims that he has thousands of happy customers and that nobody has ever complained about his wax or products (yeah RIGHT). Make him aware that he DOES have unhappy customers!
