hello forum

Introduce Yourself

You should try to remove this wax of your hair... even if you used it only one time.I used wax once, the day I made my dread, and after 3 months there were still wax on them! Now that I get rid of that, I can tell you that they are dreading faster and better. Wax doesn't help the dreading process at all.check the wax removal thread it works pretty well... with a lot of effort but you won't regret it.see ya man and good luck feelin irie said:
they were started from a dread kit from dreadhead hq i know what you guys are thinkin (why would you do that?) and the reason is because i have heard good things about there products, and i have also heard a crazy amount of people bash them and say how they are horrible people and they sell shity products that just ruin your hair/dreads. i am still very new to the dreadlock scene so i didnt know and still kinda dont about what kind of products to use if any? they were backcombed and waxed to start, and i have never put any wax on since the first day ive heard nothin but horror stories about wax. i wash them atleast once a week maybe twice is that too often? as for using the beads to control the loops of loose hairs does that mash them together to make it all matted into one or are they permanent to just kinda hide it? cause i have a loop in just about every one. i dothank all you guys that have replied to my post with tips and help i already feel very welcome at this site thanks again alan

Hey welcome to the forum brother!Ok so how did you start your journey?for your loops maybe its just because its not all the part of the dread that is locking up in tha same time.. if you want you can put a bead on it, it will help.loose hair is normal don't worry. The best advice I can ggive you its to let them do their things they will lock on their own.4 month is still young give them time and don't worry about them...they will probably feel better hahasee ya mannamaste

!:O
haha, it gets better, and what loose hair I have now I'm glad that it is there, the occasional long ones I get I just wrap around or tuck under dreads so they don't bug me,
the only other thing that DOES bother me is when people say "I think you need to get ur dread redone their coming apart" then I just let them feel them and their like oh shit no their not,

Love your loose hair

Member Journals and Timelines

So often people get all worried in the first weeks after they had backcomb their hair because of the loose hair between their dreads. I was worried! lol But now its been like... 1 month since I do nothing to my hair and I just notice that my loose hair starts forming little baby dreads !Don't try to put your loose hair in your dread as many site say... just let them do and forget about it... so more simple!... just wanna talk about itsee ya!

Best method for making dreads!!!

Dreading Methods

Hey !Glad you pass here. The best way to have dread is obviously natural way. If your hair is like an afro right now just try to separate them in section and let them be it will probably dread pretty fast. There is no method to make have dread quickly, dreadlock is all about time and patience. I don't think the latchhook method is really good at all...If you don'T want to go natural even if I strongly recommend it to you, you can try to twist and rip your hair or backcomb but twist and rip over backcomb...If you don't want to wait for having dread you shouldn't have dreadlock!one more thing : please don't use wax !!hope this help.

College

General Talk

I go to college since last year. I'm studying in sciences and I don't really know where I will go after. I will probably stop school to travel for a year or two because I think my mind will need it... After that I will know better what I would like to do. It's not in class that you learn to know yourself properly...
